What a difference already after just one week!
RYSE staff and members said a temporary goodbye to our garden, basketball court, and outdoor space as we cleared the way toward a dynamic campus soon to be in our future. Old fencing was removed to merge the entire plot of land that’s to become RYSE Commons. Our outdoor classroom, also known as the Casita, was forklifted to the other side of the yard and transformed into an office for our construction team, Oliver and Company.
There was an emotional moment as we watched our outdoor stage become a pile of concrete in a matter of minutes. Many of our staff and members remember when the stage was first built and opened in 2012. Now, the concrete from the stage will be repurposed into the building of RYSE Commons.
A reminder that we’re still very much open during this expansion! RYSE programming continues for our members amidst the distant rumbles, an ongoing reminder of the literal transformation that is happening around us. The work continues.
