RYSE has been monitoring the status and spread of COVID-19, implementing preventive and precautionary measures onsite for member and staff well-being. You can view information on our community immunity practices here.
We are amping up our efforts as transmission through community contact is increasing. This pivot from prevention to preparation detection may impact RYSE visitors and partners.
We appreciate your understanding and commitment to taking care of ourselves and each other, affirming that we are worth taking care of ourselves and each other, and that our worth is more than our work.
In prioritizing our health and humanity, the following measures are in effect:
Staff who are experiencing or showing any symptoms are not to come to work. This includes not attending work meetings or events offsite.
Staff who start to experience or show symptoms while at work have been directed to leave work immediately.
We are working with members who are experiencing or showing symptoms to have them take a break from RYSE until they feel better. We are connecting with their parents and caregivers to ensure they have a place to be if not at RYSE.
These measures apply to visitors and partners. If we notice symptoms we will ask visitors and partners to reschedule and/or make alternative plans.
Across these measures and ALL our efforts, we continue to affirm and uplift the humanity of young people of color, responding to their immediate and daily needs, priorities, and interests AND continuing to acknowledge and disrupt the social and political conditions of harm, violence, and oppression while we cultivate the eco-system of healing, justice, and liberation we deserve.
As conditions around COVID-19 change, so too will our response measures. We will keep our beloved community informed.
