We are grateful for the contributions made by our community to help us create a space to benefit our youth.
The Chamberlin Education Foundation has long supported RYSE in promoting young people’s vision and leadership toward a student-centered public education ecosystem. This year, CEF is funding RYSE’s Listening Campaign 2.0. A team of youth participatory research interns are designing questions to understand the current realities and conditions that young people in West Contra Costa navigate and identify policies and investments needed. This research will support efforts and collaborations toward more healing and just schools.

John Muir Health and RYSE are celebrating 10 years of the Beyond Violence partnership this month. This partnership formed to respond in deeper coordination and care for young people harmed by gun violence or physical assault. When young people arrive injured at John Muir Hospital, John Muir staff work with RYSE Intervention Specialists to connect directly with young people, often at hospital bedside, to support their recovery and stabilization. Through healing-centered care and coordination, this tender and vital collaboration also works to address and mitigate the social conditions of violence through prevention, advocacy, and systems transformation.

Constructive Solutions Inc. played a key role in the construction of RYSE Commons, bringing the dreams and designs of young people to life. The construction of RYSE Commons expanded RYSE’s physical presence from 6,000 sq. feet to a 45,000 sq. feet campus - one that already holds a powerful legacy of creativity, poetry, laughter, justice, organizing, grief, and gatherings.

Blue Shield of California’s BlueSky sponsorship celebrates the many ways that young people educate, lead, and organize for the culturally relevant mental health care, resources, policies and systems that they deserve. Blue Shield of California promotes youth power building to improve mental health resources through leadership by BIPOC young people, youth who are systems-impacted, and youth who identify as LGBTQ+. Through RYSE’s leadership pathway program, 40% of current staff are former youth members trained in community mental health practices and now supporting a next generation of youth health leaders.
