DLCAPs Fellows

We are the youth representatives on the District Local Control Accountability Plan (DLCAPS) Committee that brainstorms and collaborate on how to impact the LCAP in WCCUSD.

Our mission is to organize youth power to ensure that youth voice and opinions are implemented in the LCAP document. We work together to advocate for our fellow classmates and ourselves in our schools by holding spaces where we can speak freely and plan together. We empower youth to speak out and take agency over their education. We hope to spark change through breaking down barriers of ageism and addressing flaws in district money distribution.  We acknowledge that there are a lot of full time working adults and even kids that cannot attend DLCAP meetings; it is because of them that we exist.

RYSing Professionals

Click here to learn more about Education and Justice at RYSE.

We are RYSing Professionals, a cohort of inspired, dream-driven individuals focused on developing ourselves as leaders and the future versions of ourselves that we will be.

Our mission is to work towards our long term goals and aspirations through career development, goal setting, and pursuing opportunities that will benefit our career path. We aim to be the leaders we are destined to be by growing ourselves in our skills and experiences and investing in our future, while encouraging other youth to do the same.

HERE Action Research Project

Click here to learn more about Education and Justice at RYSE.

We are the HERE Action Research Project. We realize that the Richmond community is full of culture and uniqueness, which is why our mission is to create an action project that will bring awareness to gentrification happening in the city.

Our mission is also to make sure that we know community members’ opinions and ideas on the issue and turn them into actions. We know that gentrification can only be stopped if we work together to empower our city.

Let’s Talk About Sex Interns

Click here to learn more about Community Health programs at RYSE.

We are the Let’s Talk About Sex Interns. We are developing our youth leadership skills through a series of sexual health/healthy sexuality workshops that are LGBTQ and body inclusive, while also teaching and facilitating sexual health workshops with our peers. We are also the youth leaders in planning RYSE’s Sex Week.

Our mission is to become a better resource for sexual health information, and peer educators for other young people. At the end of our internship, we will receive Sexual Health Peer Educator Certifications endorsed by Planned Parenthood, which will help us build a foundation for careers in public health and/or education.
