Tavae Samuelu is s proud native of Long Beach. She moved to Northern California to attend UC Berkeley, where she pursued a degree in Ethnic Studies. It was in those Ethnic Studies classes that her passion for social justice was first ignited. After falling in love with the Bay Area, she decided to make her move permanent and now calls Oakland home. Since college, Tavae has dedicated her time to supporting youth development and fighting for equal access to higher education. She sincerely believes she is a better person when the sun is out, and that everything in life makes more sense when she’s near the ocean.
