Stephanie Medley was born and raised in the Bay Area and lived in Richmond for a majority of her childhood. Prior to coming to RYSE, Stephanie worked as the Reentry Coordinator for Bay Area Legal Aid’s Contra Costa Regional Office where she advocated for policy change concerning resident’s affected by the judicial system and represented low-income clients by advocating for their housing rights.
Additionally, Stephanie clerked at San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and Alameda County Public Defender’s Office where she gained substantial knowledge on navigating through the criminal justice system and its effects on adults and juveniles. Stephanie received her B.A. in Political Science and American Studies, with a focus on Jurisprudence, from San Francisco State University, obtained her Juris Doctor from John F. Kennedy University College of Law and studied International Human Rights Law and International Environmental Law at the Universidad para la Paz (UPEACE) in Costa Rica. Stephanie is excited to continue working for social justice in her hometown.
