Dan Reilly was born and raised in the Bay Area before attending UC Santa Barbara where he studied film theory and developed a passion for media activism. After graduating with a B.A. in Film Studies and receiving two departmental awards, he excelled as an activist while working with a number of organizers and social justice organizations. Eventually, Dan returned to the Bay Area where he has spent the last 10+ years working on a number of music, video, and new media projects related to social justice issues. While engaged in a number of partnerships and collaborations, Dan’s work has spanned a variety of mediums from traditional music and video to interactive multi-media art installations in a variety of public and virtual settings. For the last four years, Dan has been working with young folks at RYSE where he is currently the Director of Media Arts & Innovation.
