RYSE is looking for a youth development professional who is passionate about movement building, policy advocacy, and direct services to empower youth to be agents of change in criminal system transformation efforts. Under the supervision and support of the Director of Education & Justice, the Youth Justice Program Manager will support the development of RYSE’s youth justice programs, policy priorities and advocacy strategy, build grassroots campaigns, and support other projects as needed. Additionally, the YJ Program Manager will work with staff and partners to monitor the development of justice policies and practices impacting youth and their families at the local, state and national levels with a focus on local transformation. The YJ Program Manager will support initiative planning efforts, mobilize constituencies, and build coalitions with grassroots and policy experts. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and a strategic, mature thing thinker that understands the need for short and long term goals and victories, practices solutions-oriented approaches to dealing with conflicts, and is a solid team player.
The Youth Success Counselor (YSC) will provide high quality support to youth returning to the community, The YSC will be paired with and support multiple youth for a minimum one-year term, and attend pre-release planning meetings held at the Probation department in Martinez. Upon release of returning youth, the YSC will act as a navigator/case manager to support the young person in successfully coming home to their community. The position reports directly to the Director of Education & Justice and works with and supports the entire Education & Justice Department. Key areas of work include, but are not limited to: case management, outreach and retention, program support and implementation, and center-wide events and activities.
RYSE is seeking a committed and dedicated individual for the Youth Organizing Coordinator position. Under the supervision of the Youth Organizing Director, the Youth Organizing Coordinator is responsible for developing a cadre of youth organizers and leaders who can meaningfully engage in local and statewide campaigns and advocacy efforts.
Trauma Response Specialist
The RYSE Trauma Response Specialist will provide case management, mentoring, and crisis supports to young people onsite at RYSE and offsite through our RYSE Restorative Pathways Project (R2P2). R2P2 is a hospital-linked violence intervention that addresses acute and ongoing needs of lethally injured youth through mentoring, intensive case management, resource navigation, and holistic supports.
